  Inupiat Girl

Anthony Adams was raised in New Mexico on the Acoma Indian Reservation. Anthony now lives in Eagle River, Alaska and works in the northern Alaska oilfields two hundred miles above the Arctic Circle. This song by Anthony was inspired by the people and landscapes of Alaska.

  Apache Tears

The song Apache Tears was written by Johnny Cash and it tells of a legend whereby Apache Indian braves were killed by the U.S. military in Arizona and their wives and lovers grieved and mourned so strongly over the deaths that the tears they shed are became embedded in the rocks of the desert. These rocks, called Apache Tears, are actually small pieces of obsidian or volcanic black glass. They appear dark until they are held to the light where then they appear clear, like tears.
