| Apache Tears | ||
The song Apache Tears was written by Johnny Cash and it tells of a legend whereby Apache Indian braves were killed by the U.S. military in Arizona and their wives and lovers grieved and mourned so strongly over the deaths that the tears they shed are became embedded in the rocks of the desert. These rocks, called Apache Tears, are actually small pieces of obsidian or volcanic black glass. They appear dark until they are held to the light where then they appear clear, like tears. |
